How It Works
Pass the Helmet is a community fundraising platform built for the Pacific Northwest motorcycle community. When a rider goes down, the community picks them up.
Create a Campaign
Tell your story, set a goal up to $5,000, and choose a duration — Weekend, 7 days, 14 days, or open-ended. Every campaign is reviewed by a real human before going live.
Community Shows Up
Minimum donation is $2 — a deuce. No guilt, no pressure. 200 riders throwing in $10 is better than waiting for one big donor. Share your campaign and let the PNW moto community do what it does.
Get Paid
Hit your goal early and funds release immediately. Campaign ends without hitting the goal — you still get whatever was raised. No waiting, no games. Payments processed securely via Stripe.
Fees
We charge an 8% platform fee plus standard Stripe payment processing (2.9% + $0.30 per donation) to keep the lights on. Donors can add an optional tip. Every other cent goes directly to the rider.
Who Built This
Pass the Helmet was built by the founder of Cretins MC and Backfire Moto — a Seattle motorcycle club established in 1992. We built this because we were tired of corporate platforms taking a cut from riders in need. This is for the community, by the community.
